The event marking “Mediation Day,” organized by the Organization for the Promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Piraeus Bar Association, and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was addressed by the Special Secretary for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Ms Olympia Anastasopoulou, representing the Minister of Justice, Mr Georgios Floridis. In her address, she highlighted the role of mediation within the contemporary legal order.
In this context, particular emphasis was placed on the momentum developed during the first year of operation of the Special Secretariat within the Ministry of Justice, responsible for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Through legislative and funding initiatives, the Secretariat contributes to shaping more stable conditions for the development of mediation, while strengthening institutional coherence.
Mediation is not merely an option, but a conscious choice that delivers meaningful outcomes for citizens and businesses.
A special highlight of the event was the award presented to two students for their distinction in an international mediation competition.
