Participation of the Ministry of Justice in the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EEA EFTA States and the Hellenic Republic

The Special Secretary for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Ms Olympia Anastasopoulou, representing the Minister of Justice, Mr Georgios Floridis, attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism. The MoU formalises Greece’s cooperation with the European Economic Area (EEA) countries -Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein- for the new programming period 2021–2028.

For the first time, the Ministry of Justice participates as a distinct beneficiary in the Financial Mechanism, marking the beginning of close cooperation with the Donor States and opening a new chapter of collaboration based on shared values, mutual trust and a common commitment to promoting the protection of vulnerable groups, particularly in the field of child-friendly justice.

This development demonstrates the Ministry’s determination to leverage every available European instrument to modernise the justice system and strengthen social cohesion. The Ministry of Justice initiatives to be funded fall under the programme “Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups” and will be implemented through the NSRF Executive Structure, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Ministry of Migration and Asylum.
